The Bayside History Museum’s square honors the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department (NBVFD), also known as Company One. The NBVFD’s first incorporated fire station was located at the corner of Dayton Avenue and 4th Street in North Beach and is now home to the Bayside History Museum, Inc. Artist Sue Mills based the design on a 1950s NBVFD jacket patch that featured symbols of firefighting such as a fire hydrant, ladders, fire helmet, and various tools. Red, gold, and black are traditional fire department colors. This square is sponsored by Linda E. Woods on behalf of the Bayside History Museum, Inc.
