Cindy Herndon

Cindy Herndon is a fiber artist and writer, telling stories with words, fibers, and threads. She has been exploring fiber arts for over 30 years. From wall hangings to full-size quilts, her practice focuses on innovative techniques for creating texture, depth, and a sense of story. Her work has been displayed at the Houston Quilt Show, Colorado Quilt Show, and North Carolina Quilt Symposium and elsewhere. Currently, her work can be found at CalvArt Gallery in Prince Frederick, Maryland.
As a lecturer and guest artist, Cindy has led workshops and presented at guild events and quilt shows, including the Annapolis Quilt Show and the Mid-Appalachian Quilters Symposium. She has shared with many churches using fiber art to illustrate her story. Some of these churches include, Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Lexington Park, The Upper Room Fellowship in Clinton, and St. John's Episcopal Church in Fort Washington. Cindy often incorporates poems or stories within her artwork, mixing her two loves.
